Brown spots on the money tree are more common. Most of the time they are not necessarily a cause for concern. However, the spots don't look that nice. Where do brown spots come from and how can they be prevented?

Causes of brown spots on the money tree
There are two main causes of brown spots on money tree leaves.
Either the houseplant is too damp or it has received too much UV light on the window sill or outdoors.
If the spots are very large, this indicates too much moisture in the root ball. Smaller brown spots that appear irregularly, on the other hand, are signs of excessive exposure to the sun.
Too much UV light causes brown spots
The money tree actually tolerates strong sunlight very well. But sometimes it gets a bit too much of a good thing for the houseplant. When the midday sun falls through the window directly onto the leaves in summer, the glass acts like a magnifying glass. Brown spots appear, which are caused by sunburn. Provide some shade during this time.
Money trees like to spend the summer outdoors, where they prefer a very sunny spot. However, they must slowly be accustomed to direct sunlight.
First place the money tree in a spot on the terrace or balcony where it will receive more diffused light. After two to three weeks, the plant has adapted to the changed light conditions and can also cope very well with a place in direct sunlight. Then there are no more brown spots.
Too much moisture
Waterlogging or even a constantly too moist root ball do not get the money tree. Therefore, it is better to water sparingly and make sure that no water can collect in the saucer. If there is water, throw it away immediately.
When caring for a money tree outdoors, it is better to place the pot without a saucer. Then the rainwater can run off unhindered and waterlogging is prevented.
tips
If the money tree gets yellow leaves, in addition to a location that is too dark or cool, pests can also be responsible. You should always fight a pest infestation immediately so that the plant does not die.
