In its homeland in the tropics, the ivy produces flowers that, like all arum plants, consist of a spadix and petals. In indoor culture, ivy practically never develops a flower. They are therefore kept exclusively for their variegated leaves.

The ivy does not bloom in the room

Efeutute as a houseplant does not bloom

In our latitudes, the ivy can only be kept as a houseplant. It does not tolerate low temperatures and the lighting conditions in the room are not always optimal.

In indoor culture, the ivy does not develop any flowers, which would be rather inconspicuous anyway.

Ivy vines are therefore cultivated for their decorative foliage. The leaves are heart-shaped and have a green base color variegated with white or yellow spots depending on the variety.

tips

Since ivy don't bloom in our latitudes, they don't develop seeds from which you can pull offshoots. However, an ivy can easily be propagated from cuttings.
