Ivy can be used in many ways in the home and garden because it thrives in both shade and sun. However, the climbing plant prefers a partially shaded location.

A good spot in the garden
Ivy thrives really well in the garden if you place it in a spot where it gets light but not too much direct sun. Therefore, half-shady places without direct midday sun are ideal.
The soil must be well loosened, waterlogging must be avoided at all costs.
Prepare the soil before planting by mixing in some compost. Ivy does not have any particular preferences when it comes to the plant substrate.
Ivy as a houseplant
Ivy is often kept in the bedroom because it filters the air and removes mold spores. But the plant is also in good hands in the bathroom.
Make sure there is enough light in the room. However, do not place the ivy in a flower window where it will be exposed to direct midday sun. If necessary, shadow him during this time. Only variegated varieties need at least four hours of direct morning or evening sun for the colors to develop.
Adequate humidity is even more important than light. Especially in winter the air is often too dry. Spray the ivy with water more frequently and place water bowls near the plants.
tips
As a young plant, ivy does not like it too bright. The older it gets, the better it tolerates direct sunlight. In his old age, too much sun doesn't bother him anymore.
