Real cypresses love it bright and warm and are only conditionally hardy. They need a favorable location so that they do not freeze to death in winter or die from diseases. What you need to consider when choosing the right location.

Bright, warm, sunny - the right location for cypress
Cypress trees are at home in warmer regions. In Germany, they only really thrive in locations where it is not too cold and not too rainy in winter.
The requirements for the location are:
- bright, preferably sunny or partially shaded
- sheltered from the wind
- permeable soil
- nutritious, slightly acidic soil
Maintain sufficient planting distance
Plant cypresses at least a meter away from walls, buildings and utility lines. The distance to the neighboring property is regulated by the municipal ordinance.
tips
The location of the cypress must not be waterlogged, as this causes the roots to rot and promotes fungal infestation. If necessary, create drainage before planting.
