The Dipladenia is not frost hardy and should be moved to a bright winter quarters in good time in autumn. The dark basement is just as unsuitable as a well-heated living room. Ideally, the temperature is between 9 °C and 15 °C.

Although the Dipladenia likes to be outside in the summer, it does not tolerate the cold

Avoid locations with direct sunlight. In winter you should only water the plant moderately and not fertilize it. Do not start doing this again until spring, when you have gotten your Dipladenia used to the fresh air again.

The essentials in brief:

  • do not overwinter outside
  • ideal temperature for winter: 9 °C to 15 °C
  • ideal location in the winter quarters: bright but not in direct sunlight
  • water only moderately
  • do not fertilize
  • get used to it slowly in the spring

tips

Place your Dipladenia in a suitable bright winter quarters over the winter and slowly get the plant used to being outdoors again in the spring.
