Ground cover roses, also known as small shrub roses and surface roses, are robust, easy to plant, long-lived and extremely floriferous. But what distance between the plants should you consider?

Planting distance depending on variety
Depending on the variety, the planting distance should be measured. Basically, there are these recommendations from experienced gardeners:
- Planting distance: 40 to 80 cm
- Plants per square meter: 2 to 5 pieces
- Plants per running meter: 2 pieces
Bushy growing varieties need a distance of at least 40 cm from each other. Flat-lying varieties as well. If you plant arching overhanging varieties, the planting distance should be based on the growth height of the respective rose.
tips
The larger the distances between the plants, the more care in terms of weeding is required later. But the smaller the distances, the more difficult it becomes to cut the plants. Find the middle ground!
