Lily of the valley with their beautiful, mostly white or occasionally pink flowers ensure romance in the garden. They are not to be confused with wild garlic or snowdrop blossoms.

The lily of the valley got its name because of its flowering time and the bell shape of the pretty flowers

This is what lily of the valley flowers look like

Lily-of-the-valley flowers are shaped like small bells that hang down from the flower stalk like a string.

In contrast to the equally popular snowdrop, there are up to 17 flowers on each stem, with some cultivated forms there are even 20. The snowdrop forms only a single flower.

Depending on the breed, the flowers have a diameter of one to one and a half centimeters. They can also be up to one and a half centimeters long.

Lily of the valley blooms in May

It is not for nothing that the spring flowers bear their name. The main flowering time is May. The first flowers often open at the end of April and the last lilies of the valley wither at the beginning of June.
