The ambient temperature not only plays a decisive role in the germination of the seeds. The temperature should also not be ignored during flowering and in winter. Why? Read below!

Ranunculus like it neither too warm nor too cold

Ensure cool temperatures during flowering

If you can, you should put the ranunculus in a cooler place during flowering (in pot culture or cut flowers in a vase). This prolongs the flowering period. Outdoor plants should be placed in the shade so that their flowers last longer.

Too low temperatures mean the end

  • Ranunculus are poorly frost tolerant
  • Never leave potted plants outside
  • the majority is hardy to -3 °C
  • some varieties tolerate temperatures down to -10 °C
  • prefer to protect or house tubers in winter

tips

High temperatures coupled with drought do not like ranunculus at all. So spare these plants and plant and care for them right away!
