Not every snowball bush of the more than 100 species is the same and so the different varieties have different requirements for their preferred location. If they don't like their location, they will show this on the flower.

Most snowball species like moist to wet soil and a sunny to semi-shady location, but the woolly snowball likes a rather dry, humus-rich soil. The snowball generally does not like too much wind, so plant it in a sheltered place if possible. As a rule, it blooms more profusely when it gets more sun, but there is also the occasional risk of burns.
The ideal location:
- sunny to semi-shady
- sheltered from the wind
- moist to wet soil
- Exception Woolly Snowball: dry humus soil
tips
The sunnier your snowball bush is, the more profusely it will bloom.
