Depending on when you sown the light germ, the flowering period begins in mid-May to mid-June. Commercially available plants already come with buds that continue to open wider. If the marigold is properly cared for and regularly cleaned, it will continue to bloom again and again until autumn.

Depending on which type of marigold you have planted in the garden, the pretty flowers are even edible. They taste pleasantly of liquorice, oranges or lemons and are therefore an exotic enrichment for salads and desserts.
