Like all beeches, copper beeches should be planted in the ground in autumn if possible. This also applies if you want to create a hedge of copper beeches. Suitable months are October or November. You can only plant copper beeches in spring in exceptional cases.

Copper beeches are best planted in autumn

Autumn is the best time to plant copper beeches

Copper beeches are usually planted in autumn, in October or November. The tree is hardy and only needs light winter protection in the first year.

If you plant the copper beech in autumn, you hardly have to worry about the care at all. It is usually so damp that the tree roots well. Regular watering is only recommended in very dry times.

tips

Copper beeches are particularly effective in a sunny location. When the sun shines on the brown-red foliage, the tree seems to glow. In shady locations, however, the leaves become slightly larger.
