Usually daisies are robust and easy to care for. But if you suddenly get yellow leaves, that is a clear warning signal: Something is wrong! What can be the reasons behind this?

Yellow leaves on the daisy can result from too much heat or drought

Reasons for yellow leaves

Most of the time, the leaves turn yellowish from the tips. Eventually the yellow turns brown and the leaves dry up. If you see yellow leaves on your marguerite, it is best to cut them back or cut them off.

Usually one of the following causes is behind the yellow discolored leaves:

  • heat
  • dryness
  • sudden change of location (e.g. after hibernation)
  • wrong wintering
  • Pest infestation (especially spider mites)
  • root rot
  • too dark location
  • nutrient deficiency
  • over-fertilization
  • humidity too low (e.g. in room culture)

tips

Freshly bought daisies get yellow leaves. This is usually because they are in a pot that is too small with too few nutrients. A repot helps here!
