Do you finally want to plant the motherwort, which is so popular with bumblebees, in your own garden? Then you should not hesitate, choose the right location and take action!

Optimal: sunny to slightly semi-shaded
The motherwort produces most flowers in a sunny location. But in a place in the penumbra, the whorled labial flowers last much longer. It should also be noted that this perennial is best planted in a sheltered location.
Everything the motherwort needs in the ground
The soil should be deep. Alternatively, tall buckets are suitable for the motherwort. The following features of the earth are important:
- Environment: moderately dry to moderately humid
- good drainage e.g. B. from sand, pebbles
- rich in humus
- medium nutrient content (preferably high in nitrogen)
tips
No matter where you plant the motherwort, remember to keep a minimum distance of 40 cm to other plants! The Mother of Hearts just keeps getting bigger over the years!
