A successful cultivation of chili is based on the use of two different substrates. During cultivation, the soil should be as nutrient-poor as possible to encourage root growth. Only then does rich substrate come into play.

Model earth in two stages
Chili plants are easily satisfied with commercially available seed and vegetable soil. Experienced hobby gardeners prefer to mix themselves:
- Sowing soil made of 8 parts peat and 2 parts perlite (37.51€) and vermiculite
- Potting soil made from 1 part garden soil and 1 part compost and 1 handful of sand or perlite
Good bedding soil is humus-rich, nutrient-rich, well-drained, fresh and slightly moist. A pH between 5.5 and 6.5 has proven to be advantageous.
tips and tricks
Environmentally conscious hobby gardeners like to exchange peat for coconut hum or wood fibers.
