When is the best harvest time?

It is best to harvest the flowers of the Cosmea in the morning, as soon as the dew has dried, because then the aroma is most intense. The flowers should no longer be budding, but they shouldn't be about to wither either, but nice and fresh. By cutting, you stimulate the cosmea to produce new buds, thus prolonging the flowering period.

How do you treat the harvested flowers?

Rinse the flowers briefly under cold water. Then carefully pat them dry. Then carefully pluck off the outer delicate petals. Small flowers can also be used whole for some purposes. Consume only unsprayed flowers, ideally from your own garden.

How are the flowers used?

You can easily use the flowers as an edible decoration on the cold buffet or on a cheese board, sprinkle them in a wild herb salad and use them to make ice cubes or flower butter. Only put the fine petals that have been plucked into the blossom butter, it is better to use the entire blossom as decoration, you can use both for the wild herb salad and the ice cubes, according to your taste.
