Annual varieties are suitable for propagation by cuttings. Cut a few unwoody shoots about 15 cm long, remove the lower leaves and place the shoots in pots with moist potting soil. Place the pots in a warm and bright place until the shoots have rooted.
Cut steppe sage
If you cut back the steppe sage in July after flowering, you will give it the chance of a second flowering in autumn. However, this cut is not essential for the plant. Winter pruning takes place in spring or late autumn so that the plant can sprout again.
