cloth: The cloth forms the seat. It is usually made of cotton, usually mixed with polyester, but the proportion is much lower. As a rule, the ratio is at least 70 to 30 percent in favor of cotton. Cotton ensures a soft feel and high skin tolerance; Polyester supports moisture management. Both fabrics are breathable. We advise against sitting hammocks with a cloth made mainly of polyester or other synthetic materials due to the reduced comfort.
spreader bar: A suspension in the form of a spreader bar joins the cloth. This is commonly made of wood, for example beech wood. The processing is more important than the exact wood: If you want to use the hammock outdoors, the wooden stick must be weatherproof and therefore impregnated. If this is not the case, you can carry out the impregnation and subsequent glazing yourself. You should then repeat this once a year.
suspension cords: The cloth is attached to the rod via suspension cords - and the wooden rod also has thick, strong cords into which a suspension hook must be integrated in order to attach the respective hammock. The cords are often made of cotton. They must be absolutely tear-resistant. Note: There are also hammocks without a crossbar (rather intended for on the go). These are only attached via suspension cords on two sides.
