Privet can be planted in autumn or spring. In October there are often rainy conditions, which means that the young plants grow better. Pay more attention to regular watering after winter when spring is too dry. So that the root ball does not dry out, you should choose a cloudy day for planting, or plant the wood in the evening hours.

The ornamental tree has no special location requirements. If the pH is in the slightly alkaline range, it grows particularly well. The shrub prefers sunny locations and also thrives in partially shaded conditions. In a shady location, there is a high risk that the plant will wither over time. Waterlogging quickly leads to rot, which is why privet feels better in well-drained soil.

When planting privet, you do not need to consider any special aspects. Bare root crops should be watered prior to planting. Place the wood in a bucket filled with water for two to three hours. Meanwhile, dig a planting hole twice the volume of the root ball.
