Harvest from January to December
The shrub basil is a perennial plant if it is overwintered indoors. Its use is therefore possible 365 days of the year.
Cut off entire shoots, each 2-3 mm above each pair of leaves. The remaining piece can then expel again. It is less suitable if you only pick individual leaves over and over again. The bare stems die.

Shrub basil can be used fresh, dry or frozen. The two preservation methods are particularly useful if you have to cut off more of the bush than you can use in a timely manner.
