When transplanting a young Kolkwitzie, keep in mind that the shrub will spread its branches voluminously over time and therefore need plenty of space. Replanting at a later point in time may not be so well tolerated.

Transplant quickly
Plant the shrub without much delay so that its roots do not dry out and suffer damage. Ideally, you have already dug the new planting hole. It should be about 15 cm wider in circumference than the circumference of the root ball. If the Kolkwitzie is transported to a new location, wrap the roots in burlap.
First allocation when transplanting
Mix the excavated soil with some compost if the new soil is very poor, otherwise not. Because the Kolkwitzie does not bloom profusely if it is oversupplied in this regard. Also, do not forget to thoroughly water the freshly transplanted mother-of-pearl bush.
