After a hard day in the garden, you can treat yourself to a little rest and do something new to relax, such as pretending flower pots. This is a simple but creative work that can also be done well with children.
There are no limits to your imagination when decorating flower pots. The easiest way is to paint the pot with watercolor or acrylic paint. Find a pretty theme and just get started. While acrylic paint is waterproof, watercolor embellishments still need to be preserved with spray paint. Then the works of art last at least one summer until they slowly fade.
Decorate a flower pot with tiles
Old leftover tiles are given a new task here. Break the tiles into small pieces and stick them on the pot as a new picture or in fantasy patterns.
Pebbles for the flower pot
Instead of tile mosaic, small pebbles can also be glued on. In the hardware store there are often selected stones that are especially suitable for handicrafts.

A very special idea is to paint the pot with chalkboard paint (black). You can always write on the pot with chalk.
Glue the flower pot with jute rope
An old skipping rope from the basement gets a new function here (if it's long enough).
For work you will need:
- a jute rope of 10 to 20 m length depends on the size of the pot
- a flower pot
- the hot glue gun
- possibly acrylic paint
- Have your material ready to hand.
- Apply some dots of glue to the bottom of the pot.
- Press the rope into the liquid plastic and let everything cool down briefly.
- Continue the trace of glue around the pot.
- Again, press the rope into the glue, very close to the previous trace of rope.
- Keep doing this until the pot is completely covered with rope.
- If you wish, you can finish the last turn with a decorative knot.
- If you like, you can paint the rope with acrylic.
