Roses are very easy to preserve. There are several methods of doing this, of which waxing is one of the fastest ways - it takes a few weeks to dry roses.

Waxed roses look classy and last forever

A bouquet of wax flowers lasts forever

If you are in a hurry, you can briefly dip the roses to be preserved in wax and then arrange the waxed flowers into a beautiful bouquet. Unfortunately, other flowers are not suitable for this type of preservation because they are too sensitive for it.

What you need to grow roses

Of course, to grow roses you will need roses (either single stems or a whole bouquet) and either some leftover candles or wax granules (available at craft stores), which is used to make candles. Depending on your taste, you can use colorless or colored wax. You will also need an old saucepan or other heat-resistant container.

Roses grow step by step

As a first step, fill a heatproof container (cans work great for this purpose) with the wax and place in a saucepan of hot water. Melt the wax in a water bath until it is liquid enough to dip a rose into it. The temperature of the wax should not exceed 60 °C, otherwise the flowers will turn brown. Dip the flower head in the liquid wax and gently wave it back and forth. Drain excess wax and then dry the flower head.

Preserve roses with glycerin

Another method of preserving roses, which is also very promising, can be carried out with the help of glycerin. However, you need more than just a few minutes for this, because the glycerine needs a few days or even weeks until it has penetrated the last pore of the rose. Place the fresh roses in a vase with fresh, lukewarm water. You added liquid glycerine to this, which the rose eventually absorbs along with the water. The rose is fully preserved when small droplets of glycerin emerge from the blossoms.

tips

If you're in a hurry, you can also dry roses in the microwave. Place the flowers on kitchen paper and cover them with it as well. Now switch on the microwave and check every 30 seconds whether the rose has dried completely.
