The advantages of paper pots

Paper flower pots are an inexpensive alternative to the plastic or peat pots used to isolate young plants. Sow your vegetable seeds in plant trays as usual and then transplant the young plants into paper pots. These are breathable, the tender roots of the young plants receive a lot of oxygen and can develop well. If they have grown vigorously through the paper, they can be planted outdoors with the paper pot. The paper pot will rot over time.

Are paper pots harmless?

If you want to grow your vegetables in homemade paper pots, you should only use normal newspaper, such as that from the newspaper. This paper consists only of cellulose and printer's ink, although this color has long since ceased to be toxic. The main component of the color is carbon, which does not harm the soil.
The pages of glossy magazines are unsuitable. This contains substances that do not belong in a garden soil or a vegetable plant.
