Green, yellow, red - small, round, oblong - not only mini-sized peppers, but also normal peppers, chili peppers and chillies can be planted in pots. Provided you meet their special requirements in terms of climate, location and care.

Their properties make peppers ideal pot plants. Because they originally come from Central and South America, they prefer a sunny location that is protected from rain and cold.
To grow peppers in a pot you need:
- Seeds from peppers or pepper plants
- 10 liter pots or tubs
- Germination substrate or potting soil
- seed soil
- bamboo sticks
- fertilizer
The soil should be loose and nutrient-rich. Avoid waterlogging! If the soil is dry, water the peppers from below, keeping the leaves dry. Provide once a week with a mixed fertilizer that contains plenty of potassium, phosphorus and magnesium but only a little nitrogen. Or add long-term fertilizer to the soil when planting. At the end of July you can already harvest and enjoy the first wonderfully fresh, crunchy peppers.
tips and tricks
Homemade fertilizer: fill a watering can with fresh stinging nettles and the spent pepper shoots and then pour in water. Leave to ferment for 2 weeks. Then fertilize or spray the peppers with diluted nettle broth once a week.
