Chili plants are naturally designed for perennial culture. Of course, they are not hardy in the latitudes here. The effort of overwintering is only worthwhile under certain conditions.

Towards the end of the hibernation, a pruning takes place. At the same time, repot the chilli plant and gradually get it used to higher temperatures. In view of this effort, it is not surprising that even professional breeders favor the annual culture.
tips and tricks
If you want to risk overwintering, we recommend wild varieties such as Chilepin or Rocoto. Although these are not hardy either, they score with a particularly robust constitution.
