The poison control center in Erfurt has classified the baobab tree as poisonous. Above all, this relates to (small) children.
According to Paracelsus' famous sentence: "Dosis sola facit venenum." It is not always the substance that counts, but rather the consumed amount of the supposed plant. In this context, the following details play an important role:
- age of the cat
- Weight
- Pieces of plant swallowed or just chewed?
Conversely, particularly small cats are more at risk of feeling unwell etc. In addition, no fatal cases have been officially recorded.
