The easy-care ornamental tree produces a large number of fruits in the ideal location. The seeds are not suitable for consumption, but they are used for propagation.

In addition, you can always observe new shoots in these rose plants. Small plants can be grown from these. For this purpose, these young shoots are cut off at a slight angle after harvesting. The cuttings overwinter in the ground in a frost-protected garden house (€24.90) or alternatively in a greenhouse. They are already beginning to form roots. In the spring (April to May) you can plant them in the garden.

Blood plums grown from seeds or shoots will not flower. A refinement by a specialist is necessary.
Warning: wild shoots
However, with increasing size and age, wild shoots deprive the large trees of valuable nutrients. In addition, they impede the unrestricted incidence of light and the water supply. Since these shoots are difficult to remove from the ground from a certain size, the following tips have proven themselves:
- Remove shoots regularly

- or carefully pull it out of the ground

You will almost exclusively find flat-rooted plants. These are blood plums that have been grafted onto sweet wild plums. Alternatively, the range also includes specimens that have been grafted onto the trunk.
tips and tricks
The small shoots on the side of the trunk are clearly different from the mother plant. These are not used to grow new trees. If you remove these, a sufficient supply of water and nutrients is guaranteed.
