Despite its high maintenance requirements, the African violet is often used as a houseplant in this country. With its colorful flowers, it knows how to build up a large circle of fans. But where in the apartment does it feel best?

Consistently warm and humid
The African violet, which is poisonous to cats, loves high humidity. The place should be light to semi-shaded. The African violet cannot make friends with the full sun. The bathroom and the kitchen are therefore predestined for this plant.
Here are some other important tips that will make choosing a location easier:
- North, east and west windows are suitable
- Temperature between 18 and 15 °C (never below 16 °C!)
- Temperature should be consistent
- do not expose to drafts
- do not place near a running heater (dry air)
- high humidity causes better growth
tips and tricks
If the African violet is exposed to too much sun, its flowering stops and the leaves turn yellowish.
