A cyclamen in a flower pot directly on the window sill makes a lot of impressions when it is in bloom. It can be admired for many weeks and enhance the color of the dreary home. But is it completely safe for cats?

Cyclamen are poisonous to cats
You shouldn't just leave the tuber lying around on the table or cupboard at home if you're a cat owner. The triterpene saponins it contains are poisonous. Even small amounts can have fatal consequences after consumption.
Young animals in particular are usually at risk because they are curious and inexperienced. If you notice the following symptoms in your cat, immediate veterinary care and fluids are critical to survival:
- Vomit
- diarrhea
- circulatory disorders
- cramps
- respiratory paralysis
