The non-poisonous Black-eyed Susanne is also so popular with us because it grows up to two meters high and forms a decorative privacy screen with its strong, edible flowers. Without a climbing aid, the climber remains rather small.

Suitable climbing aids for black-eyed Susanne
Basically, the black-eyed Susanne climbs up everything around which the shoots can meander. Ideal climbing aids are:
- pergolas
- trellis
- garden fences
- balcony railing
- Special flower trellis
However, simple wooden sticks or bamboo poles are also sufficient as climbing aids.
It is important that the supports are firmly anchored to the floor or walls so that Black-eyed Susanne does not tear them down. A robust installation is recommended, especially in drafty locations.
tips and tricks
Black-eyed Susan belongs to the genus of heavenly flowers. If the non-toxic climbing plant does not receive a climbing aid, the shoots hang down. It then develops only a few flowers.
