The outer leaves of aloe plants yellow over time and then fall off. This process is natural in older plants that are in the process of forming a stem. On younger plants, yellow leaves can come from overwatering.

The aloe vera is a succulent plant, i. H. it has thickened leaves that store water. Leaves growing in rosettes close to the ground make the plant so attractive:
- gray to bluish-green colored, sword-shaped,
- sharp thorns sit at the edges,
- the upper leaf layer leathery and smooth.
The outer leaves of the aloe plant yellow, die off and make way for new ones. As long as the plant looks healthy and has new leaves growing from the center, there is nothing to worry about. In younger plants, yellowing can come from overwatering. One should stop watering for 1-2 weeks and continue to monitor the plant. The discolored leaves can be cut off.
