Trees give the garden a wild and natural character. They create an oasis to relax while providing shade. There are suitable shrubs for every location, whose flowers and fruits decorate the garden.

Fruit trees should not be missing in the home garden

fruit trees

A cherry tree is recommended for warm and sunny locations. Sweet cherries are undemanding and easy to care for. They decorate small gardens in spring with lush flowers and during the hot summer months you can enjoy the fruity sweet cherries. Cherry trees grow between 15 and 20 meters tall, but there are also dwarf varieties that take up less space.

Apricots originally come from the steppes of Central Asia, which are characterized by a dry continental climate. The small trees adorn the garden with intensely glowing flowers whose petals are pink. They stand in contrast to the red-brown bark. Since apricots need certain temperatures for successful fruit formation, wine-growing areas are ideal.

The common medlar, which adorned cottage gardens a hundred years ago, has fallen into oblivion. The shrub-like to tree-like trees grow about six meters high and develop an expansive crown. Its flowering period extends from May to June.

deciduous trees

Witch hazel is recommended for humus-rich soils in a sheltered location. The slow-growing shrub prefers consistent moisture conditions and is suitable for small gardens. While the snow is still on the witch hazel transforms the garden into a spring-like oasis when the bizarre flowers with their ribbon-shaped petals develop. They are bright yellow, orange or red in color and have a pleasant scent.

When the flowering season of most trees is coming to an end, the garden marshmallow really comes to life. The shrub is also known as hibiscus and develops an annual increase of between ten and thirty centimeters. It prefers sunny locations and thrives in partially shaded conditions. Its flowers shine in white, pink, purple, red or blue.

conifers

The bald cypress is a particular rarity that sheds its needles in winter. It grows up to 35 meters tall and is therefore only suitable for large house gardens. Native to North America, the tree thrives in sunny to partially shaded conditions. Waterlogging does not cause him any problems.
