When does the Mirabelle bloom?
Knowing the exact timing of Mirabelle plum blooms will help you care for the tree appropriately. Between April and May, the mirabelle adorns itself with numerous white flowers.
Once the magnificent spectacle is over, it is time to cut the mirabelle plum. Since the trees grow quickly, it is important to thin them out before flowering or in the fall. This is the only way for all leaves, branches and ripening fruits to get enough air and light to fully develop. If you do not take action promptly after flowering, you must expect a delayed and reduced harvest.
Not to be confused with the flowering period is the phase in which you can harvest the ripe mirabelle plums: this usually happens between August and September.
