The healthy ginger tea has another enhancement rich in vital substances: ginger juice! Enjoyed on its own, it is a matter of taste, but it is excellent for refining other freshly squeezed juices or for seasoning dishes.

What is ginger used for?
Ginger is used in natural medicine as well as in cooking: it plays a key role in Ayurvedic cuisine and in numerous Asian dishes. It gives them a sharp, lemony flavor. Ginger helps to make dishes digestible. It is not only good for digestion, but also has an anti-inflammatory effect, helps against nausea and stimulates blood flow and circulation. As a cold medicine, it has a strengthening effect and against pain and sore throats. It also contains many important vitamins and minerals.
Two ways to juice ginger
Due to the rather small amount of ginger you want to juice in most cases, hot juicing is less recommended. In addition, the ginger loses some of its vital substances when heated. For the recommended cold juicing you can use two different devices:
- Juicers: Juicers are devices that use centrifugal force to extract juice from fruit. Place the unpeeled ginger in the juicer. It is then finely ground and then centrifuged fully automatically. This process is very quick and guarantees a high juice yield. Since centrifugal juicers are relatively expensive, the purchase is worthwhile if you prepare fresh juice very often.
- Juicer: In an electric juicer, the ginger is finely ground, causing its juice to escape. This method takes a little longer than juicing in a centrifugal juicer, but is gentler and just as efficient. You don't need to peel the ginger for juicing in the juicer either. Just cut it into rough pieces and put them in the press.
If you want to prepare fresh juice from different types of fruit and vegetables, you can simply add the desired fruit to the juicer or juicer together with the ginger. In just one step you have the perfect juice mixture in your glass.
Reserve ginger juice
You can use the fresh ginger juice immediately or store it in a sealable container in the refrigerator for a few days.
Incidentally, you can also juice ginger in advance: frozen, it stays fresh and durable for several months. Put the freshly squeezed ginger juice in an ice cube mold and put it in the freezer for a few hours. Once the juice cubes are frozen through, place them in a sealable, freezer-safe container for further freezer storage.
