A garden pond - regardless of whether it is an ornamental or a fish pond - should not be laid out in isolation, but at best in connection with a stream and, as a special highlight, with a waterfall. This has the advantage that the water is always in motion, is constantly enriched with oxygen and is therefore less polluted. In addition, such a waterfall does not fail to have an atmospheric effect - especially if you have a good view of it.

Easily create a waterfall yourself - Here's how
First of all: To create a waterfall, you always need a pump with sufficient delivery capacity to return the water from the garden pond below to the source. Otherwise, you should pay attention to these points when planning the waterfall:
- Use the excavation from the garden pond to create the waterfall.
- Steep waterfalls are not suitable for fish ponds.
- They prefer garden ponds with rather flat waterfalls, for example running over stairs.
- Simple waterfalls can be made from ready-made plastic shells, pond liner or even concrete.
- Natural stones and plants create a natural look.
- Water features made of bamboo canes are recommended for Japanese gardens.
- Discarded objects (e.g. old coffee pots) can also be used as a source for the waterfall.

With waterproof LED lights, great lighting effects can be conjured up in the waterfall.
