The frangipani is unfortunately very susceptible to pest infestation. Spider mites in particular make the houseplant very difficult. How do you recognize a spider mite infestation and how does the plumeria treat you?

Why are spider mites so harmful to frangipani?
Spider mites are not just up to mischief on the leaves. They eat into the trunk and leave real tunnels there. This hinders the growth of the frangipani and prevents it from forming new shoots in spring.
How do you recognize an infestation?
Spider mites can hardly be seen with the naked eye. If you look very closely, you will see small webs that are located between the leaf axils. If you have any suspicions, gently spray the plant with some water. Then the webs can be discovered more easily.
Treating spider mites on the plumeria
If spider mites have gotten into the frangipani, you shouldn't wait long. Cover the substrate with a plastic bag to prevent pests from hiding in the soil.
Rinse off the pests in the shower with a strong jet of water. Then let the frangipani dry well.
If the infestation is very severe, you can obtain suitable chemical agents to combat spider mites from specialist garden retailers. Poison sticks that are stuck into the ground are well suited. The poison is absorbed by the plant and eliminates the spider mites that are in the stem. Unfortunately, many pests are now resistant to pesticides, so you may need to try multiple preparations.
How to prevent
The occurrence of spider mites is favored by cool temperatures and insufficient humidity. They are therefore particularly common in autumn and winter.
Place the frangipani in a place that is not too cool. It doesn't tolerate colder than 15 degrees anyway. Increase the humidity by placing water bowls near the plant.
Do not spray the plumeria leaves directly with water. This promotes the occurrence of mold.
tips
Frangipani suffers comparatively often from diseases. Fungal infestation plays a major role here. Be careful not to keep the plant too moist.
