- The dragon tree also likes it sunny and warm in winter
- Adapt the care measures to the hibernation of the dragon tree
The dragon tree is one of the fairly easy-care indoor plants and can also show impressive growth indoors if you repot it regularly. This plant feels really good when the temperatures remain as warm as possible all year round.

The dragon tree also likes it sunny and warm in winter
Due to the natural area of origin of most of the subspecies, the dragon tree is highly sensitive to cold temperatures. Dragon trees should also be as bright as possible in winter (although not in direct sunlight at the window) and not exposed to temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. Certain dragon trees even drop their leaves at cooler temperatures below 16 degrees Celsius.
Adapt the care measures to the hibernation of the dragon tree
During the so-called hibernation from around November to March, the following care measures and location factors should be adjusted accordingly:
- fertilization
- water supply
- light
You should not fertilize the dragon tree during the winter months and you should only water it as soon as the top layer of soil feels crumbly dry again. A lot of daylight has a basically positive effect, but too much direct sunlight can also damage the leaves.
tips
The dragon tree also thrives very well on the balcony during the summer months, but it must be brought into the house in good time before cold weather phases come in the fall.
