If the Canary date palm gets brown leaves, it is usually a natural process. If discolored leaves appear in heaps, there may be a care error. Sometimes pests are also responsible for the brown leaves of the Canary date palm.

Why does the Canary Date Palm get brown leaves?
If there is no natural cause, mistakes in care or location can be responsible for the brown leaves. Occasionally, pests also cause brown leaves:
- Substrate too moist / too dry
- Humidity too low
- Frost damage in winter
- Burn marks from strong sunlight
- pest infestation
If the Canary date palm gets a lot of brown leaves, check it for pests such as scale insects, mealybugs and spider mites.
Do not cut brown leaves until they are completely dry. Leave a small piece of the stem attached to the plant.
tips
You should never shorten a Canadian date palm. It only has one vegetation point. If you remove this, the palm will die.
