For many orchids, the flowering and growth phases do not run at the same time. Thus, Odontoglossum and Oncidium pause after the growth of their new bulbs. Several weeks elapse between growth and flowering on Miltonia. Terrestrial orchids like Pleione flower in winter and grow in summer. Here we explain how to properly care for these and other types of orchids during growth.

Water properly and fertilize during growth - this is how it works
When an orchid is growing, leaves, bulbs and stems sprout cheerfully. With this care program you promote the vital vegetation cycle:
- Water or dip once or twice a week
- Spray daily with decalcified water at room temperature
- Fertilize at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks with a special liquid fertilizer for orchids
If orchids are growing, they need a very bright location on the east or west window. A place at the south window is possible, as long as there is shade here in the midday hours.
