She is growing great and looks gorgeous. But suddenly their fronds turn brown. This can be normal or exceptional…

Reasons for brown leaves
There can be the following reasons:
- normal aging of the fronds (are shed over the years)
- severe nutrient deficiency (including iron deficiency)
- pest infestation
- illness
- wrong wintering
- dryness
- wetness in the root area
- persistent suffocating heat
- Substrate too calcareous (Caution: Use non-calcareous irrigation water!)
- too low humidity
Cut off brown leaves properly
Only when the fronds are brown and dry should they be cut off. But be careful: don't cut them off too far! A 3 to 4 cm piece of the petiole should be left on the stem.
tips
If several fronds suddenly turn brown, this is a cause for concern. Reconsider care and location!
