Pak choi is a type of cabbage, but unlike kale it is not hardy. Find out here when you can harvest home-grown pak choi in the garden and when it is in season in the supermarket.

In the garden, the Pak Choi season begins in June

Pak Choi in your own garden

Depending on site conditions, pak choi can be harvested six to ten weeks after sowing. If you grow Pak Choi at home from the beginning of April, you can start harvesting from May / June. You can store pak choi in the refrigerator for up to ten days. Alternatively, you can also sow seeds and harvest well into September.

season in the supermarket

Pak Choi is grown both outdoors and in greenhouses, but rarely in Germany. You can therefore buy pak choi in supermarkets all year round - but this often comes from Thailand or the Netherlands. Organic pak choi from the farmer around the corner is available from May to September.
