The growth of the cypress per year
In a favorable location and with good care, a cypress grows 40 to 70 centimeters per year, both in width and height. There are also varieties where the annual growth is up to one meter.
That's how tall cypresses grow
In their homeland, cypresses grow up to 30 meters high. Due to the poor climatic conditions in Germany, they usually reach a height of around ten meters here.
tips
If you have enough space in the garden, you can simply let the cypress grow as a single tree. If the cypresses are to be used as a hedge and thus as a privacy screen, an annual pruning is necessary.
