The sweet umbel, which once came to us from the Alps and Pyrenees, is robust and hardy. The plant used as a medicinal plant, in the kitchen and for the production of liqueur does not place great demands on its location.

Partially shaded location preferred
- partial shade
- humus soil
- slightly damp
- forest floor
The sweet umbel likes it in partial shade. Wind and rain do not bother the robust plant.
You get a moist substrate that resembles the forest floor particularly well. If necessary, you can enrich the soil with some peat or pine needles.
If you do not have a suitable partially shaded location in the garden, the sweet umbel also thrives in a sunny spot. It even tolerates sandy soil. You just have to water them more often.
tips
In a favorable location, the sweet umbel reaches a good 1.80 meters in height and 1.50 meters in width. Since it takes up quite a lot of space when fully grown, you should never plant more than two plants per square meter.
