The Chinese hemp palm is the palm most commonly planted in Europe. The reason: their robustness and good winter hardiness. But in order for it to grow properly, the location and care must be right.

A fan palm up to 15 m tall
Below: A slender and upright covered trunk. At the top there are numerous, dark green and up to 1.60 m wide leaf fans. The Chinese hemp palm reaches a height of up to 15 m and a trunk circumference of up to 1.10 m. It is therefore considered a medium-sized fan palm.
Stimulate growth
This palm hardly grows during the winter. But in summer you can stimulate growth:
- full sun, warm location
- high temperatures
- Spray leaf fans in heat
- water regularly
- repot every 3 years
- Fertilize every 2 weeks from April to September

Caution: Female specimens grow more slowly than male specimens in adulthood.
