Once established, the feather bristle grass survives short-term drought. But in general it is advisable to water it in hot weather and during longer dry periods. Stale tap water or rainwater should be used for this. Warning: not too cold!
If the feather bristle grass is in the bucket, special attention must be paid to the water balance. As soon as the soil has dried up, it is poured. If the tips of the plant turn brown, that's a sign that it's too dry.

The pruning only takes place in the spring - between February and March. Cut back the grass to 10 cm above the ground. The new shoot is stimulated and accelerated. A shape cut is not necessary. On the other hand, dried stalks and tips can be cut away as soon as they become apparent.
Are there specific pests or diseases that can damage it?
When wet, it is not uncommon for fungal attack and a clinical picture of rot or rust to occur. Affected parts should be removed quickly. Spider mites can appear on pests in dry weather.

If there are gaps in the overall picture, you should not cut the feather bristlegrass to fill the gaps. It is better to divide it in the spring. That stimulates growth.
