The cinquefoil, which is considered to be hardy in this country, can quickly develop into a real weed that overgrows all locations. Is it harmless or does it contain toxins?

All species are non-toxic
As a member of the rose family, cinquefoil is non-toxic. Animals are not endangered either. With the following types you can be sure that they do not contain any toxins:
- five cinquefoil
- Goose Cinquefoil
- Rock Cinquefoil
- Creeping cinquefoil
- spring cinquefoil
- Tall cinquefoil
- Gold Cinquefoil
Some cinquefoil species, which are usually extremely easy to care for, are even often used and eaten as medicinal plants. They can be used internally and externally. They help, for example, with diarrhea and inflammation and have a blood-purifying effect.
tips
Cinquefoil leaves have a sour taste. They are suitable for salads, soups and tea. The flowers can be harvested in May/June and, with their yellow color, are extremely decorative for serving food.
