With its bright red stamens, the bottle brush shines clearly during its heyday. Its leaves are also appealing, as they smell like citrus when you rub them between your fingers. But is the cylinder brush completely harmless?

A harmless exotic
Most people know the bottle brush - whether grown as a tree or a shrub - as an ornamental plant. It is less known whether this plant is poisonous. Unfortunately, there is little information about the toxicity of this Australian plant.
What is certain, however, is that it poses no danger to humans. It has neither appetizing fruits nor tasty seeds. And it is unlikely that you will be able to enjoy the leaves either. Rather, it is a feast for the eyes.
tips
Especially when overwintering this plant, make sure that pets do not nibble on it. You could otherwise be afflicted by intolerance symptoms.
