The butterfly orchid (bot. Phalaenopsis) is not only popular, but also a very decorative houseplant. Hybrids of this type can be found in many living rooms. They do not pose a danger because they are at best slightly poisonous.

Where should I place my Phalaenopsis?
The Phalaenopsis needs warmth and light to thrive and bloom well. Give it a location by the window, but away from direct sunlight and dry heating air. A temperature around 20 °C is well suited for these orchids. They are also not as difficult to care for as is often assumed, but they do need regular fertilizer and water.
The essentials in brief:
- very decorative
- reasonably demanding but not difficult to maintain
- only slightly toxic
- Consumption can cause nausea
- keep away from small children and cats
tips
Even if the Phalaenopsis is only considered slightly poisonous, it is better to keep the plant away from small children and pets.
