Lettuce can be bought in the form of seedlings from the pre-cultivation in the greenhouse for an early harvest. You can also sow lettuce on the windowsill from late March and then prick out.

Don't wait too long to prick
If you don't have enough time or nerves for pricking out, you can also cultivate lettuce outdoors from mid-April. The seedlings on the windowsill should not be brought forward too early, otherwise they will become too long for transplanting and thus become unstable. To prick them out, you should pull them extremely carefully out of the poured potting soil and sink them into a hole you have made in the soil with your finger. Gently press this from the side before watering the transplanted plants with a shower attachment.
tips and tricks
A pre-cultivation of lettuce is only suitable for very patient gardeners, because pricking out requires a sure instinct and a lot of time.
