Most dogs love pumpkin, whether it's raw, boiled, baked, diced, or pureed. You don't even have to peel the delicious Hokkaido pumpkin, as the skin softens during cooking. But be careful: Pumpkin can have a laxative effect if consumed in large quantities.
Pumpkin seeds help against worm infestation
Not only does Hokkaido pumpkin taste extremely good to the animals, it is also very healthy. The ripe fruits contain numerous vitamins, minerals and fiber and fill you up with just a few calories. The (raw) pumpkin seeds also help against tapeworm infestation. Some dogs deliberately eat the seeds first and only then the pulp.
tips and tricks
Give your dog a delicious mash of steamed Hokkaido pumpkin mixed with quark or cottage cheese. You can also add carrots and/or corn.
